Katrina Barnes is a Principal consultant in Clear Horizon’s international team. With extensive experience working at the initiative, portfolio, and whole-of-organisation levels, Katrina supports clients to understand their strategic MEL needs, clarify design and theory of change, builds pragmatic MEL strategies, and undertakes evaluations. She enjoys working on complex initiatives or settings, across systems transformation, adaptive management and exploring ways to decolonise MEL practice.
With over 15 years’ experience working in international development and humanitarian programs, Katrina is experienced in leading strategy development, research and evaluations; designing multi-faceted projects; and establishing robust and practical MEL systems. She is trained in quantitative and qualitative evaluation methodologies and has a strong focus on developmental approaches, facilitating participatory processes, partnership and evidence utilization. She has lived and worked across Southeast Asia, East Africa, the Middle East, and the Pacific.
When not at work Katrina can be found on hiking adventures, cooking or kickboxing.
